Le monde du football africain est en deuil. L’ancien président de la CAF confédération africaine de football le camerounais Issa Hayatou est décédé ce jeudi à Paris des suites de maladie à l’âge de 77 ans.
Il est incontestablement l’une des grandes figures du football africain. D’abord, président de la fédération camerounaise de football de 1986 à 1988. Ensuite, président de la CAF de 1988 à 2017 soit 29 ans à gérer l’instance dirigeante du football africain avant d’être détrôner par le malgache Ahmad Ahmad.
De 2015 à 2016, il assume la présidence par intérim de la FIFA suite à l’affaire Fifagate qui a éclaboussé l’instance autour de Sepp Blater et autre Michel Platini.
