Dans l’après-midi de ce vendredi, 17 avril 2020, des échauffourées ont éclaté entre les chauffeurs de taxi moto et des agents de la police communale de la ville de Karamoko Alpha mo Labé. Ceci a provoqué la fermeture systématique des boutiques et magasins.
Dans un entretien qu’il a accordé à notre rédaction, Alpha Abdoulaye Sow, Secrétaire Général de l’USTG bureau syndical des taxis motos de Labé, confie que ”c’est dans le cadre de leur contrôle quotidien autour du marché, les agents de la police communale auraient trouvé une moto mal stationnée au niveau de la gare des taxis motos de la Mosquée. Ainsi, les policiers ont décidé de saisir l’engin” raconte-t-il. Cependant, a-t-il renchéri, “il y a eu altercation quand les chauffeurs de taxi moto se sont catégoriquement opposé à ce que les policiers amènent la moto avec eux”, a-t-il indiqué.
Du coup, “les agents ont battu le propriétaire de la moto concernée. Ce dernier a été déclaré mort, et cette information a envahi la cité. C’est ce qui a révolté les conducteurs de la ville de Labé. Ils ont immédiatement brûlé le tricycle que les agents conduisaient”, explique M. Sow.
Très remontés, les chauffeurs de taxi moto ont tenté de mettre le feu dans les locaux de la police communale, située à la rentrée du grand marché. “Le syndicat est venu pour les dissuader de ne pas le faire. Mais les syndicalistes n’ont pu les convaincre. Il a fallu l’intervention de la police et de la gendarmerie pour remettre de l’ordre”, précise le secrétaire général des taxis motos de Labé.
Par ailleurs, “nous demandons aux taximetres de revenir à des meilleurs sentiments. Le jeune conducteur n’est pas mort, il se porte bien. D’après des informations que j’ai reçues sur place, il a quitté l’hôpital et serait déjà rentré chez lui. Ils n’ont qu’à rester derrière le bureau syndical, nous allons gérer”, a déclaré Alpha Abdoulaye Sow.
