Dans une déclaration rendue publique ce jeudi, 26 mars 2020, la porte-parole de l’Union Européenne a déploré les actes de violences qui ont été enregistrés en marge du double scrutin législatif et référendaire, dimanche 22 mars dernier, entraînant une énorme perte en vies humaines, plusieurs blessés par balles et des dégâts matériels considérables.
Voici ladite déclaration…
Le double scrutin du 22 mars s’est tenu dans un climat de forte tension émaillé par des violences causant plusieurs morts. Ces actes de violence et l’usage disproportionné de la force par les forces de l’ordre sont inacceptables.
Le caractère non inclusif et non consensuel de ces scrutins et du fichier électoral porte atteinte à la crédibilité de ces élections. L’absence d’observation régionale et internationale reconnue remet également en question la validité du processus. Les clivages intercommunautaires se creusent dangereusement.
L’Union européenne renouvelle son soutien aux initiatives de la Communauté économique des états de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (CEDEAO), de l’Union africaine et de l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) susceptibles de réhabiliter le processus électoral, de désamorcer les tensions et de renouer un dialogue entre toutes les parties.
