Binta ANN a suivi des études en Lettres Modernes en Guinée avant de se rendre en France, puis aux Etats Unis où elle se spécialise « Master en Education préscolaire et Elémentaire » dans le New Jersey.
En 2003, Binta ANN a créé la fondation humanitaire FONBALE pour le bien-être des femmes et des enfants démunis, ce pour quoi lui ont été décernés le Prix Franco-allemand des Droits de l’Homme 2017 et le prix de la Femme de l’année 2018 dans la Catégorie Sociale et Humanitaire en Guinée.
Cette femme engagée, aux casquettes multiples, travaille actuellement à l’Agence Américaine pour le Développement International, USAID, dans le Département de Démocratie et Gouvernance, elle est également la Responsable du Genre et de la Jeunesse pour la Guinée et la Sierra Léone.
Binta Ann a collaboré avec les grandes institutions comme UNICEF /UNFPA, Plan International, les ambassades des Etats Unis, France, Allemagne, Turquie etc. et elle a participé activement à l’organisation des élections en Guinée et en Sierra Leone pour promouvoir les droits des femmes et des jeunes.
Binta Ann est aussi une écrivaine et auteure de huit (8) livres et de plusieurs articles sur le bien-être et la défense des droits des personnes vulnérables avec des titres comme :
– AWA LA PETITE MENDIANTE ed. Unicef Guinée 1997: livre et film documentaire sur l’éducation de la jeune fille, l’exploitation et la mendicité des enfants,
– LE MARIAGE PAR COLIS, roman, ed. Harmattan France 2004 roman, sur le mariage précoce et forcé et,
– Six livres de jeunesse sur l’importance de l’école, l’hygiène, l’éducation civique et morale, les enfants soldats et les droits des enfants publié aux éditions Classiques Ivoiriens 2018/2019.
Binta Ann est un ambassadeur de la paix choisi par les jeunes, qui fait la promotion de l’éducation civique et morale dans les écoles, lutte contre l’excision, le viol et les mariages précoces.
Activiste des droits des enfants, Binta Ann mène ses combats avec calme et humilité, c’est pour cette raison qu’elle a été toujours convoitée par d’autres pays, mais heureusement, elle est encore parmi nous en Guinée, pour l’instant.
