La session inaugurale de l’Assemblee nationale s’est bel et bien tenue ce 21 avril dans la salle des congrès du palais du peuple. Ce, en dépit de multiples condamnations de sa convocation pour raison du covid-19 qui sévit dans le pays. En effet par un vote des députés, Amadou Damaro Camara a été élu comme président de la nouvelle de l’Assemblee nationale en sa 9eme mandature avec 98 voix sur les 114. L’ancien président du groupe parlementaire de la majorité succède à Claude Kory Kondiano.
Cette élection de l’honorable Damaro met fin à la pratique voulue par le président Alpha Condé qui donnait la présidence de l’assemblée nationale à un ressortissant de la Forêt. Amadou Damaro Camara au perchoir de l’Assemblee, c’est pour au moins 5 ans sauf cas de dissolution du parlement (article 68 de la nouvelle constitution)
